Motivation Is My Problem..

Post by Vincent Chain on Mon Nov 21, 2011 8:38 pm

I have the most trouble in motivating myself. I can not really force myself to do something new. I have a hard time to get my homework done because I feel like I am motivated for video games or something else in stead. I chicken out on a lot of things and I seriously hate it.

Got any ideas on how I could motivate myself?

Erm I'm afraid I'm in the same boat tbh, I just can't motivate myself to find a full time job, even though it would give me money.

I think you'd have to find a reason why you want to get motivated tbh. For instance I barely went to school until I got a girlfriend ad then was in all the time to see her and began to do a lot more in life. Then we broke up and I reclused lol

That or when you think you are gonna chicken out, just say fuck it and take the leap

If video games are your problem, then you use them as an advantage. Say to your mother to ban you from your xbox or whatever until you have finished your homework and she's seen it. That's what I do, that's how I did 6 hours of french revision last night and got the grade I wated today =P

I have done something like this before - it hurts but it does work.

Yep, you've just got to tear yourself away from videogames for a while and get the work done. It's all the more rewarding when you know that you've done your work and that gaming time seems a lot more enjoyable almost. xD

I am a procrastinator/de-motivated person myself so I'm not the best example...

I also find that worrying myself about the consequences of not doing the work helps but then I sometimes push that too far and I end up feeling nauseous. It's not a good idea to do that.

I'll get it done when I get it done, or I'll get it done eventually.
